LibGuides: Gallaudet Library is providing you with a new tool that will help your students find information. LibGuides are web-based guides for specific subjects or courses that bring together many different resources for students and faculty to use. The concept is hard to explain in words, but easy to understand by looking at some examples. Take a look at these guides created by Gallaudet librarians. If you have ideas for possible subject-specific guides, or if you would like to create a guide for a course you are teaching, please let us know.
New! H1N1 information from the Library: Are you concerned about H1N1? How should individuals and organizations prepare for it? What are the symptoms? What are the treatments?
Gallaudet University Library has links to two new H1N1 web sites that are ideal for personal or course-related research.
The ebrary H1N1 (Influenza) Searchable Information Center is a collection of current documents in PDF format from authoritative sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. You may search, highlight, and take online notes in this database.
The Influenza Evidence-Based Information Portal, produced by EBSCO Publishing, includes full text articles from highly respected journals such as Lancet and medical databases such as CINAHL (Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature) and numerous links to authoritative web sites.
