FAQ: Publishers & Vendors of Deaf-Related Materials

Publishers of deaf-related books and other materials

"I've written a book/created a video/have an idea for a CD-ROM on a deaf-related topic, and I want to find a publisher for it. Who can I contact?"

Listed below are some English-language publishers who specialize in or otherwise publish a relatively large number of deaf-related books and/or videos. This is not all the publishers of deaf-related materials: many general publishers publish one or a couple of deaf-related books among many others, and there are many tiny deaf specialty publishers that publish just one to a few deaf-related books or videos. However, the following publishers are good places to start shopping around your manuscript.

We recommend that you first visit a publisher's Web site and/or get a copy of its catalog to get a feel for the type of deaf-related books it publishes, and so whether or not it might be interested in your book. Many of these publishers specialize in subcategories of deafness, and this list indicates what areas each publisher tends to be interested in (it does not necessarily limit itself to those areas only).

Disclaimer: the Gallaudet University Library neither endorses nor recommends against any of these publishers, nor does omission of a publisher mean anything other than that we don't have space to list them all. The following is provided for your information only.
