• American Sign Language Browser
  
  Contains "video of thousands of ASL signs." From Michigan State University.

   

• American Sign Language Linguistic Research Project
  
  Descriptions of research being done in this Boston University project. Also includes lists of citations to findings as published in journals and books.

   

• HandSpeak (tm)
  
  An online sign language dictionary. This link is for the free, public version. Subscribers get ad-free access to the dictionary and additional features such as ASL grammar.

   

• International Bibliography of Sign Language
  
  This bibliography is a product of the Institute of German Sign Language and Communication of the Deaf at the University of Hamburg. It "contains 44.000 titles of academic literature and 6.300 abstracts" related to "modern sign language research ... Deaf culture, sign language interpreting as well as education of the deaf." This link is to the Help page which gives a good explanation of how to use the site.

   

• National Cued Speech Association
  NCSA "supports effective communication, language development and literacy through the use of Cued Speech." Their web site includes papers and videos about cued speech.

   

• Signing Savvy: Your Sign Language Resource
  
  A very nice sign language dictionary. You can search for specific words or browse various categories. Use as a guest, or get more features if you register for free, and even more if you do the paid registration.

  Publishes and sells "educational and instructional materials related to American Sign Language (ASL) and American Deaf culture."

   

• Harris Communications
  
  Sells "products for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals and sign language interests," including equipment, books, videorecordings, and gifts.

   

• Ready! Set! Sign!!
  
  Sells a sign language instruction DVD set that includes signs, grammar, games, and "cultural moments."

   

• American Sign Language Productions, Inc. (Sign Enhancers products)
  
  Sells mostly videorecordings (some printed materials, too) for adults, children, and even babies. They also sell many resources for sign language interpreters.

   

• Sign Media, Inc.
  
  A large selection of books and videorecordings are available for sign language learners, Deaf people, and interpreters. These materials cover a wide variety of topics including, of course, sign language and interpreter instruction and practice, but also signed stories and Deaf culture

• CODA Fact Sheet
  
  A list of resources ranging from organizations to lists of books and videorecordings for CODAs (hearing offspring of deaf parents). Compiled by Tom Bull, a CODA and a former employee of Gallaudet University.

   

• Deaf Academics Directory
  
  Directory "of approximately 200 Deaf and hard-of-hearing academics and researchers, in a range of disciplines and from all over the world." Also take a look at the rest of the web site.

   

• The Deaf Resource Library
  Karen Nakamura describes her web site as "a virtual library -- an online collection of reference material and links intended to educate and inform people about Deaf cultures in Japan and the United States." The Deaf Resource Library covers a wide range of topics.

   

• Deaf Studies Internet Resources
  
  This list was created by a librarian at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at the Rochester Institute of Technology. It includes hundreds of web sites covering dozens of topics.

   

• Described and Captioned Media Program
  Includes a "media library [that] has over 4,000 free-loan described and captioned media titles." The site also includes articles about captioning, including lists of agencies that do captioning.

   

• National Consortium on Deaf-Blindness
  
  Deaf-blind information. For research on this topic, take a look at the DB-Library which is divided into several categories of information. There are a lot of full-text documents as well as citations to help you find other information.

   

• Resources for Deaf Parents with Hearing Children

  This index was created by a librarian at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at the Rochester Institute of Technology. It isintended "to help locate articles, papers, publications, and information on Interpreting, Interpreting Issues, Sign Language, Deaf Studies, Deaf History, and other related materials. It contains over 18,000 entries."
