Videos from other libraries
This program is officially known as MediaShare.
Gallaudet faculty may sometimes borrow videos owned by consortium libraries for use in their classroom and instruction. They are usually borrowed for one week's use. Note that some videos are in VHS format and others are in DVD format. Make sure you have the proper equipment needed based on this format. Also, read the Aladin record carefully -- some videos are closed captioned or subtitled in English but some are neither. If there are no captions or subtitles you may want to make arrangements for an interpreter while showing.
The earlier you submit your video request, the better. Videos are transported between libraries via courier so at least one week's advance notice before date of use is preferred. Requests should be sent to library.help@gallaudet.edu and a Library staff member will submit the request to the lending library. You will be notified if/when the video arrives. Bring your ID card with you to the Service Desk of the Library for pickup.
