Deaf Parents of Hearing Children
A Pathfinder
SCOPE
The Gallaudet University Library contains much material relating to deaf parents of
hearing children. This pathfinder is designed to help you find information and materials
about deaf parents of hearing children. If you want the most recent information on
this subject, you should plan to use periodicals (magazines and journals) found in the
ERIC or ECER databases. Books will also be helpful and often more thorough, but they
are usually not as current as periodicals.
Since the topic deaf parents of hearing children is closely related to the
topic hearing children of deaf parents, you will find much overlap in the
materials for both topics. Some materials will be applicable to both topics. Some will
be for only hearing children of deaf parents, but computers can't separate
those from deaf parents of hearing children. You will have to separate
those materials yourself by careful reading of the titles and other information.
Remember, this pathfinder will not tell you about all the materials the Library has about
this topic. You must do the basic research yourself. This pathfinder will guide you to
the appropriate places to begin your search for information. If you need further
assistance, please ask at the Reference Desk.
