Many Library staff members are deaf and do not use voice telephones. Because of this, callers to the voice phone are likely to get an answering machine, and their calls may not be returned promptly.
Hearing callers may use the national relay service:
- Dial 711
- You will be instructed to enter the number you wish to call (202-651-5212)
- An operator will come on. The operator will type your words for the person you are calling, and read aloud his or her typed response to you
Make an appointment with a librarian
- Contact us by any method listed above - or
- Select a librarian from this list of subject specialists.
